Read your results: what every figure means
Where answers show up, what each score and rate measures, and how small groups stay anonymous.

Where results live
Answers show up as they arrive, in two places. A survey's own page shows how that survey is doing. Analytics brings every survey together over a period, so you can see trends and compare groups.
- The survey page. Open a survey for its Results, Sends, Comments and Questions tabs.
- Analytics. Overview, Heatmaps, Comments and Reports, plus a page on how each of your people is doing.
On a survey's page and on Analytics, admins see the whole workspace, and a manager sees the people in their reporting line.
The figures on a survey
The Results tab leads with three figures, then participation by group and a table of themes.
- Response rate. The people invited who answered, out of everyone invited. A survey shared only by its link shows a dash.
- Score. The average score of its answers, out of 10, beside the change from the same length of time just before. Both show a dash when too few people answered or were asked.
- Completion. How many of the people who started went on to finish.
Participation is shown for each group of your first field, such as department or plan. Groups where too few people answered are counted, not shown.
The Analytics overview
At the top, choose the Survey, the Period (the current quarter by default) and what to Compare to. Group by picks the field to compare groups on.
- Response rate. Invitations answered, out of invitations sent in the period.
- Score. The average score of the period's answers, out of 10. Your workspace may call it Happiness.
- eNPS. The share of promoters minus the share of detractors, from each survey's first NPS question.
- Comments. How many open answers were written, and how many read as negative.
Below them, charts show the score and sentiment over time, how scores spread, participation by group and the Biggest movers since the period you compare to.
How a score is made
Every rating and NPS answer is put on the same scale: the answer divided by the top of its scale. A response's score is the average of its scored answers, shown out of 10.
eNPS counts 9 and 10 as promoters, 7 and 8 as passives, and 0 to 6 as detractors. Score distribution uses the same bands: low, neutral and high.
Theme scores come from AI analysis (Solo and up). Polzy reads each response and scores the themes it touches. How themes are scored has the detail.
Comments and people
Comments gathers what people wrote, tagged by theme and sentiment, with no names. Filter by sentiment or theme, and export the list.
The people page shows how each person is doing across surveys, with tabs for who needs attention, who has never answered and who is improving. Only admins see individual people; managers see groups.
Small groups stay hidden
Results only show for a group when enough people in it have answered — 5 by default. Below that, a figure shows a dash with Hidden to protect anonymity, and a heatmap cell is left empty.
An admin sets the number under Settings → General → Privacy and data → Minimum group size, anywhere from 3 to 50.
The limit is applied on the server, so filters, heatmaps, reports and Ask Polzy all respect it. How the minimum group size works.
Signed-in members can ask Polzy or message the team from Support. How fast we reply depends on your plan.
