Book meetings in a survey with Calendly or Cal.com
The Schedule meeting question shows your Calendly or Cal.com booking page inside the survey. Respondents pick a time without leaving it, and the booking is their answer.
On this page
The Schedule meeting question puts your Calendly or Cal.com booking page inside a survey, so the people answering can book time with you — a call to talk through their feedback, a demo, an interview — without leaving the survey. There is nothing to connect: you paste your link into the question, the booking happens on Calendly's or Cal.com's page, and the survey records that it was made. At the end of this guide you will have the question in your survey, pointing at the right event.
The Schedule meeting question is on every plan. Only Admins add and edit questions.
Before you start
You need:
- The Admin role in the workspace.
- A Calendly or Cal.com account with the event people should book, such as a 30-minute call.
Copy your booking link
In Calendly:
- Open Scheduling.
- Hover over the event type people should book, and choose Copy link on its card.
The link looks like https://calendly.com/acme/30min. Calendly explains the kinds of links in Calendly: How to share your scheduling link.
In Cal.com, copy the booking link people should book. It looks like https://cal.com/acme/intro, or https://acme.cal.com/… for an organization. Cal.com explains its links in Cal.com: What are Links.
Add the question
- Open the survey in the builder and choose Add elements.
- Under Ask, choose Schedule meeting.
- Write the question's title — what you invite people to book.
- On the question's Content tab, paste the link into Booking link. A link on neither Calendly nor Cal.com is marked in red, with the reason under it.
- Save the survey, and publish it when you are ready.
What respondents see
Under the question, the survey shows your booking page as Calendly or Cal.com draws it; Cal.com follows the survey's light or dark theme. If a Contact info question comes earlier in the survey, the name and email typed there are already filled in on the booking form.
Once they book, the question says Booked and they can go on. Book a different time shows the page again: the new booking replaces the first in the answer, but the first stays booked until they cancel it from its confirmation email.
If the page does not load — a network that blocks it, say — the question offers Open the booking page in a new tab instead. Opening it answers the question, even a required one, and your results count it as Opened the booking page: a booking made there cannot be confirmed in the survey.
Good to know
- Can a respondent skip it? Not when Required is on: they cannot go on until they have booked — or, where the page does not load, opened it in a new tab. Off, they can go on without booking.
- What is stored as the answer? The booking's own addresses — Calendly's for the event and the invitee, or the Cal.com booking's page. The time, the guests and the meeting link stay in your Calendly or Cal.com account. The question takes no part in scoring.
- Does the preview book for real? Yes. The preview shows your real page, so a booking made there goes into your calendar — and it is not recorded. A required meeting does not stop you walking through the preview.
- Is there anything to turn on under Integrations? No. The link is all the question needs, and neither Calendly nor Cal.com is connected to the workspace.
- Can people book anonymously? Calendly and Cal.com ask for a name and an email address when someone books. That is kept by them — an anonymous answer stays anonymous in the survey, but the booking is not.
- Which link should I use? An event's link sends people straight to that meeting; your page of events lets them choose. Both work.
