Your profile, preferences and notifications

Your own account: your name, photo and contact details, the language, time zone and appearance Polzy uses for you, answering anonymously by default, and which emails and texts you receive.

Your account holds what is yours rather than the workspace's: how you appear, how Polzy reads to you, and what it sends you. It has three tabs — Profile, Preferences and Notifications — and every role has it: Admins, Editors and Viewers.

To open it, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose My profile. Changes save as you make them: a field is saved when you leave it, a switch when you flip it.

Profile

Your account's Profile tab: photo, name, the address you sign in with and your role, phone and job title.

Personal information is how you appear to the rest of the workspace.

FieldWhat it is
PhotoUpload photo — JPG, PNG or GIF, up to 5 MB. It replaces your initials in menus, comments and actions, in every workspace you belong to.
First name and Last nameRequired. Shown wherever your name appears.
Email addressThe address you sign in with, with your role beside it. You cannot change it here: ask an Admin.
Phone numberWhere texts go if you switch on SMS notifications, and where a campaign sent by SMS reaches you.
Job titleOptional.

Workspace fields shows what this workspace files you under — a department, a location, a plan. You cannot change them: an Admin or the workspace's people sync sets them, because moving yourself between groups would change everyone's results.

Address is your postal address — street, city, state or province, postal code and country. It is optional, and your workspace's Admins can see it.

The profile ends with Signing in — your password and two-step verification — and Where you're signed in. Sign in and turn on two-step verification covers both.

Preferences

Preferences: language and time zone, the appearance switch, and answering anonymously by default.
  • Language. The language Polzy's screens and the dates in them are shown in. The list is the languages your workspace offers. The language menu in the top bar changes the same setting.
  • Time zone. The first choice, Follow the workspace, uses the time zone an Admin set for the workspace, and names it. Pick your own when you work somewhere else: the dates and times on screen follow it.
  • Appearance. Light, Dark or Match the system. It follows your account to every device you sign in on. The moon and sun in the top bar switch between light and dark.
  • Answer anonymously by default. Your answers are stored without your name — still counted in the groups you belong to, so they keep their weight in results. A survey that requires identification overrides it.

Notifications

The Notifications tab chooses which messages Polzy sends to you, one switch each. Email goes to the address you sign in with; SMS to the number on your profile. You only see the rows that apply to your role.

Notifications: one switch per email and text, with who it is for.
NotificationWhat it sendsWho sees itStarts
New survey invitationsAn email when you are invited to answer something.EveryoneOn
Reminders (email)A chase when an invitation is still unanswered.EveryoneOn

Admins reach the same switches from Notification settings in the account menu, which opens Settings → Notifications, where they sit beside the workspace's alert rules and delivery settings. Both screens change the same switches.

The bell in the top bar is separate: it lists what happened in Polzy whatever you choose here. Find your way around Polzy explains it.

Troubleshooting

That change was not saved. — Polzy could not save it, so the switch or field went back to what it was. Check your connection and try again.

My language is not in the list. — The list is the workspace's languages. An Admin adds languages for the workspace; see Languages.

I switched off reminders but still get invitations. — New survey invitations and Reminders are separate switches. With invitations off, campaign emails stop too: you then find surveys to answer on your dashboard and in My feed. Invitations by text follow the SMS Reminders switch.

My photo does not upload. — It must be an image — JPG, PNG or GIF — of 5 MB or less.

Good to know

  • One sign-in, several workspaces. Your photo, your password, two-step verification and Where you're signed in are the same in every workspace you belong to. Your name, phone, job title, address, preferences and notification choices are kept for the workspace you are in: if you belong to several, set them in each.
  • Your role is shown beside your email. Only the organization's Owner changes it.
  • Leaving or erasing your data is not something you do from here. The organization's Owner removes members, and an Admin can export or erase a person's data from their record. Ask them.
