Six languages

Polzy speaks English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Arabic. In Arabic the whole interface reads from right to left.

Every person chooses their own language, so one workspace can be read in several at once. A word that has not been translated yet shows in English, never as a code.

Choose your language

Pick a language from the language menu in the top bar, or under Language in your preferences. It is saved to your account, so it follows you to any device and every workspace.

Only the languages switched on for the workspace are offered.

The language of a survey

Each survey is written in one language. In the survey's settings, under Localisation, choose its Survey language. Buttons, messages and the reading direction follow it for every respondent.

Without one, someone answering without signing in sees the survey's buttons in their browser's language. The questions are always shown as you wrote them.

One survey in several languages at once is planned. Follow it on the roadmap.

Change the wording

On Enterprise, admins can change any piece of wording that respondents and admins see. Open Translations in the sidebar, find the text and click it. The panel shows the platform's wording in each language with a field under it for your own. Leave a field empty to keep the platform's wording; Reset to default puts the whole key back.

A change applies to your workspace only. Use it to speak your organization's own language — "colleagues" instead of "employees", say, or your name for a survey.

  • Search and filter. By text, language, category, and whether a string is translated yet.
  • Progress. Each language shows how complete it is in your workspace, and how many strings are missing.
  • Overridden in this workspace. Every string you changed is marked, and the Wording filter lists them.
  • Draft the rest. On a language with strings missing, Polzy drafts them as your workspace's own wording. It never overwrites wording somebody wrote, and a draft that loses a placeholder — a name or a count — is left for you.

Custom translations are on Enterprise.

Add a language

Click Add language and give its code, its name and its direction: Left to right or Right to left. Attach a CSV of its strings if you have one, or translate it on the page. The language, and every string in the file, is added to your workspace only.

Export JSON downloads every string as your workspace reads it, to share with a translator or keep a copy.

Your workspace already speaks to its audience. An employee workspace says "employees" and a customer workspace says "customers" from the start. Change those words here like any other.
