What Polzy keeps with each answer
What a response stores beside the answers, what Collect metadata adds, and that the IP address is not collected.
With every answer
A response holds the answers, when it was started and completed, the survey and the campaign it came through, and the language it was answered in. A named response also holds who gave it. A reference passed with the link is saved too, as Share a survey explains.
Collect metadata
In the builder's Settings tab, Collect metadata is on unless you switch it off. It keeps two things more with every answer that is not anonymous:
- Browser and device. The browser and the system the answer was given on, read from what the browser says about itself and shown in the response's details.
- The page it was opened from. The address of the page a respondent came from, such as your intranet or the page the survey is embedded in, without anything after a
?or a#. Those parts of an address can carry an order number, a token or an email address, so they are never kept.
Switch it off for a survey that does not need to know where it was answered.
No IP address
Polzy no longer collects the IP address a response is sent from, on any answer.
Anonymous answers
An anonymous answer keeps none of this: no name, email, browser, page or invitation, whatever Collect metadata says. A reference passed with the link is still saved, so pass nothing that identifies the person.
How long answers are kept is a workspace setting. How long answers are kept.
